"INVEST in Your General" Campaign

Each year the Parents’ Club partners with the GMS administration to solicit monetary donations for the school.  This program, termed the “Invest in Your General” campaign, helps fund those items most urgently needed by GMS teachers and administration.

Please consider a donation of the $150 per student to the GMS INVEST CAMPAIGN.  This is the PRIMARY fundraiser for the Parents’ Club, which directly supports technology and education supplements to enhance your children’s learning environment. The campaign goal for this year is $35,000.  All funds go directly to the school.  In the past, funds have gone to academic areas which included: math software for all students, iPad class sets and carrier carts (for student use), classroom SMARTBOARDS, resources for social studies and ELA teachers, assistance with supplements for coaches and related arts instructors and incentive awards for students throughout the year. 

Although the suggested donation to the Invest campaign is $150 per student, ALL AMOUNTS are needed and appreciated. Remember that your donations to the "INVEST in Your General" campaign are 100% tax deductible.

During the 2022-2023 school year, the Invest campaign raised over $32,000 and was able to fund nearly all of the items requested by the teachers and administration.

Here’s a sample of what YOUR generous donations covered in past years:

• The purchase of 23 science tables, a hand-operated lighted planetarium, triple beam and compact balances, density samples, and borosilicate glass tubes for our science department

• The renewal of our Carnegie math software contract

• Software purchases and renewals for our Language Arts department

• The purchase of a camera and optical zoom lens for use by the WGMS and yearbook staffs

• The purchase of "Science World" subscriptions for all 6th grade students

• The purchase of a "History Alive" subscription for use by the 7th grade teachers and students

• Art and music funding

• Funding for the school-wide positive behavior program

• Funding for student awards such as Good Citizens, Geography Bee, and math competitions

• Stopwatches and extra batteries

• Flash drives

• Whiteboard

While Grassland Middle School provides an outstanding education for our students, it simply cannot provide all of the technology, materials, equipment, and programs without your help.  The funding provided by the county commission and the school district only covers a minimum amount of funding for the needs of the school.  “Invest in Your General” is the only major fundraising campaign conducted during the school year.  Your participation is vital to Grassland Middle School’s success.
